
They are on the right side on the N so I assume they would have ended up there in a stack of four perhaps as the StuG ones are stored, in a square configuration rather than the flat stowage on the left side of the ivs. Would it have had a full turret basket as per the iv, or have continued with the existing part basket for the gunner? And, where would the long cleaning rods have gone. It has raised an interesting question, two actually. A wise idea, but still an interesting what if.ĭML has actually done a very nice kit of this what if build which I've just bought from BNA. Hitler rejected the idea on these grounds and the StuG was developed instead. It would have meant stronger suspension, a new turret ring, a completely revised hull interior and so forth. That would have given it at least an 75mm L43 to play. Near the end of 41 the makers of the Pz iii had the idea of solving the pz iii armament problem (size does matter after all), by replacing the turret with a pz iv F2 turret.
