There's also the ability to gain influence with followers and unlock additional dialogue/bonuses. Mechanics are the same, but the second one implemented additional feats, powers, and a more fleshed-out crafting system. Gameplay-wise, the games are pretty identical. I think the second game feels a lot more mysterious and creepy, with a big focus on gray morality. Story-wise, the first feels more like a traditional Star Wars story, with pretty straightforward good and evil, and a standard questline. If you like it well enough, it will convince you to buy and play the second one. Tl dr: I recommend buying and playing the first one.
